Mr. Ellis focuses his practice on matters involving real estate sales, purchases and development, land use, leasing, lending transactions and title services. His clients have included local and national residential and commercial real estate developers and construction companies, retail and commercial landlords and tenants, banks, and government entities. Mr. Ellis also practices in the area of condominium and community association law. He also works in the marina industry, including the conversion of marina-condominiums across the state of Florida. Mr. Ellis was the first attorney in the Fort Myers area to receive the LEED AP designation from the US Green Building Council. LEED AP's are distinguished as building professionals who have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and the LEED rating system.

 
Representative Matters
  • Represents clients in all phases of development for commercial, residential, office and mixed-use projects including contract negotiation, land acquisition and development.
  • Represents Community and Condominium Associations in all facets of their operations and compliance with Florida law.
  • Represents lenders in mortgage-backed loans and loan transactions secured by various types of collateral; and also counsels lenders in negotiating workouts of distressed loans.
  • Has formed numerous community and condominium associations on behalf of clients developing residential, commercial and mixed-use subdivisions, including large scale high rise condominium projects.
  • Counsel for developers of marinas, yacht clubs and marina-condominium projects throughout the State of Florida, including issues related to submerged land leases, condominium development.
  • Represents landlords and tenants in negotiating and drafting leases including retail, office, commercial, warehouse and industrial.
