Selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® for Bet-The-Company Litigation (2009-2010), Mr. Kopp has practiced in the area of business litigation since joining Roetzel & Andress in 1979. Though he has handled many types of complex cases, he focuses his practice on business litigation and commercial disputes and has tried many such cases to verdict. He has represented numerous large and middle-market clients in shareholder and partnership disputes, legal malpractice, fraud, and breach of contract disputes, as well as intellectual property litigation. (He has argued successfully before the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.) He also has represented media clients in matters pertaining to libel and invasion of privacy. A past president of the Akron Bar Association, he is also certified as a specialist in civil trial law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. |

- Successfully represented a Fortune 500 company in pursuing its trademark rights pertaining to the wrongful sale by others of trademarked goods.
- Obtained $20.6 million judgment on behalf of Fortune 500 company following jury trial in contract dispute.
- Successfully represented a Fortune 500 company in large contract dispute involving construction project located in Europe.
- Successfully defended a large, privately-held manufacturing company against allegations of patent infringement, including winning affirmance of trial court's decision in the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.
- Represented privately held national company in obtaining multi-million dollar jury verdict (including punitive damages) in Ohio trade secret case against company's largest competitor; verdict affirmed on appeal.
- Represented a mid-sized company in legal malpractice trial against major east coast law firm where the alleged malpractice arose out of environmental issues created during purchase by client of the assets of another company.
- Represented a major metropolitan newspaper and other media entities in numerous cases (including those that went to jury verdict) involving libel, invasion of privacy, breach of contract, public records, and Sunshine law.
- Successfully represented majority of law firm in litigation involving the dissolution of that firm.
- Successfully represented groups of shareholders on multiple occasions in shareholder dispute litigation.
