Mr. Ellis focuses his practice on Maritime, Chemical Products and Insurance defense litigation. He has litigated cases in numerous states throughout the country in all three areas as well as several Product Liability cases. His work has taken him throughout the United States and to Canada and England. In addition, Mr. Ellis has engaged in preventative law, examining several new products to evaluate safety issues, marketing materials and warnings related to these new products. He has over 30 years of experience in Litigation and alternative dispute resolution, and has been selected as one of Ohio's top Lawyers as determined by Cincinnati Magazine each year since 2004.

 
Representative Matters
  • Significant experience in maritime law including inland river, from the Monogehela River, the Ohio River and it's tributaries, part of the Mississippi River, and the Illinois River on matters involving cargo damage, collision, pollution, personal injury, the Jones Act, maritime contracts, and also serves on an emergency response team
  • Successfully represented major maritime company in defense of a forty million dollar Qui Tam suit in Southern Ohio
  • Represented disability insurance companies since 1980, in both state and federal courts, throughout the Midwest, including western Pennsylvania, all of Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Indiana and tried cases nationally
  • Significant experience in chemical products, including trials of toxic tort, product damage, contaminant and product liability cases and handled a number of fire and explosion cases involving chemical products
