Roetzel & Andress LPA is pleased to announce that Christopher D. Donovan, a shareholder in the firm’s Naples office, has been elected Chair of the Appellate Practice Section of The Florida Bar.
The Appellate Practice Section is an organization of 1,500 attorneys devoted to promoting excellence in Florida’s state and federal appellate courts. The section focuses on enhancing the role and skills of members of attorneys who are engaged in appellate practice by providing continuing legal education, disseminating materials on matters of interest and concern to the appellate community and through the exchange of ideas among the members of the section.
Donovan has served the Appellate Practice Section in numerous capacities, serving as Chair-Elect this past year, Vice Chair/Treasurer (2018-19), Executive Council member (2014-present), Chair of the CLE Committee (2016-2018), and Co-Chair of the Telephonic CLE Committee (2014-2016).
Mr. Donovan is one of only two attorneys in Collier, Lee, and Charlotte County to have the honor of being Board Certified in Appellate Practice by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization. His practice focuses exclusively on appellate and original-jurisdiction proceedings in both state and federal court.
With over 15 years of appellate experience, Mr. Donovan has handled over 200 different appellate matters involving a broad range of legal areas, including commercial, real estate, admiralty, employment, probate, family, constitutional, and administrative law. He also represents a wide range of industries, including local governments, businesses, developers, banks, and community associations.
