Roetzel & Andress is pleased to announce that Christopher D. Donovan has recently been recertified in Appellate Practice by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization.
Board certification recognizes attorneys’ special knowledge, skills, and proficiency in various areas of law, together with professionalism and ethics in practice. Certified attorneys are the only lawyers allowed to use the terms “specialist,” or “expert,” or the initials “B.C.S.” when referring to their legal credentials. Board certified attorneys must meet a number of criteria in order to earn certification, including a passing grade on a rigorous, practice-area specific examination, and a peer-reviewed assessment of competence in the field, plus demonstrated character, ethics, and professionalism.
Mr. Donovan is one of only three attorneys in Collier, Lee, and Charlotte counties to have the honor of being Board Certified in Appellate Practice. His practice focuses exclusively on appellate and original-jurisdiction proceedings in both state and federal court.
With over 14 years of appellate experience, Mr. Donovan has handled over 150 different appellate matters involving a broad range of legal areas, including commercial, real estate, admiralty, employment, probate, family, constitutional, and administrative law. He also represents a wide range of industries, including local governments, businesses, developers, banks, and community associations.
Mr. Donovan earned both his J.D. and B.A. from Stetson University, and he was previously a staff attorney for Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Florida Bar Appellate Practice Section, is President of the Michael R.N. McDonnell American Inns of Court and sits on the Board of Directors of the Collier County Bar Association.View PDF
