Roetzel Continues Growth with Addition of Adrienne Kirshner in Cleveland

Roetzel & Andress announced today the addition of attorney Adrienne Kirshner to its Employment Services Group in Cleveland. Kirshner’s practice is focused in the area of Education Law, representing and counseling school districts throughout Ohio.

“The addition of Adrienne adds considerable depth to our strong Education Law team,” said Shareholder and Education Law Practice Group Chair Susan Keating Anderson.  “She is a welcome addition to our team and I am confident that her expertise and experience will greatly benefit our school district clients throughout the state.”

Kirshner provides guidance to schools on matters relating to the education of students with disabilities, including the evaluation of students with suspected disabilities and issues concerning compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA). She reviews IEPs and ETRs for legal compliance, attends IEP and ETR team meeting when warranted, and handles all aspects of litigation concerning student matters. Kirshner also advises school districts regarding compliance with board policy and ethics rules and regulations. She also has experience in developing and implementing internal investigations when allegations of misconduct arise.

Prior to her work in education law, Kirshner represented businesses and individuals charged with and/or under investigation for white-collar criminal offenses. Her work often involved crisis management and conducting investigations to determine what occurred, how, and when while determining what, if any, corrective actions should be taken.

Kirshner received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Case Western University and a B.A. in Public Policy Studies from the University of Chicago.
