Roetzel is pleased to announce that partner Karen D. Adinolfi has been named the 2014 – 2015 Chair of the Labor & Employment Section of the Akron Bar Association. Ms. Adinolfi previously served as the Section’s Vice-Chair. The group meets regularly to discuss recent cases, legislation and current topics of interest to practicing labor and employment attorneys. It provides a forum for representatives of management, employees, and organized labor in the community, as well as representatives from administrative agencies to discuss labor-management problems and solutions.
“We are very proud of Karen and know how hard she works to keep herself and her peers up to speed on legal issues in labor and employment law,” said Douglas Spiker, Practice Group Manager of Roetzel’s Employment Services Group. “Her appointment as chair of the Labor & Employment Section of the Akron Bar is proof that her peers are well aware of her skills in this area as well.”
Ms. Adinolfi focuses her practice on labor and employment litigation, regulatory compliance and union matters. She has represented her clients in matters such as discrimination, harassment, and retaliation litigation, wage and hour litigation, arbitration proceedings, and appeals and administrative proceedings before the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Ohio Civil Rights Commission, Unemployment Compensation Review Commission, and U.S. Department of Labor. She is also a member of the firm's Health Care Reform Team, which advises employers on compliance with the Affordable Care Act.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Adinolfi is active in several civic organizations, serving on the boards of the Akron Blind Center, the Akron Bar Foundation, and the Summit County Historical Society. Ms. Adinolfi earned her J.D. from The University of Akron School of Law, her M.A. from Kent State University and her B.A. from The University of Toledo.View PDF
