Roetzel & Andress shareholder Jamie B. Schwinghamer, an attorney in the firm’s Naples office, has been named President of the Collier County Women’s Bar Association (CCWBA). Ms. Schwinghamer previously served as vice president of the CCWBA and is the second attorney from Roetzel to lead the organization.
“I am honored to lead an organization that has a rich history of promoting and recognizing the advancement of women in the legal profession,” said Schwinghamer. “I am also very humbled to follow the many impressive and trailblazing women who have previously led the CCWBA and it is my hope and intention to continue to move our organization forward.”
Ms. Schwinghamer, recently named Practice Group Manager of Probate, Trust & Guardianship Litigation at Roetzel, concentrates her practice in the areas of probate, trust, guardianship and complex commercial litigation. She counsels her clients on a variety of matters including, but not limited to: will and trust contests, disputed estate and trust administrations, trust modification, revocation and termination, surcharge and removal proceedings, elder guardianships, guardianship advocacy, guardianship litigation, business contracts, shareholder and partnership disputes and appeals. Ms. Schwinghamer regularly represents individual and institutional trustees, personal representatives, guardians and business owners.
The purpose of the CCWBA is the “promotion, recognition and encouragement of the contributions of women within the legal profession and judiciary, improvement of the administration of justice and the elevation of judicial standards, promotion of the study of law particularly among women, dissemination of legal knowledge to all members of the community and improvement of relations between members of the Bar, judiciary and public. Ms. Schwinghamer will serve a one-year term as president of the CCWBA.
Ms. Schwinghamer has been selected as a Rising Star® by Florida Super Lawyers for the last 11 consecutive years, named a Gulfshore Business Magazine “40 Under 40” winner (2016) and a Naples Illustrated “Top Lawyer- Trusts and Estates” (2019). Ms. Schwinghamer is also a graduate of both the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel Florida Fellows Institute (2017) and the Leadership Collier Foundation, Growing Associates in Naples (GAIN™) Program (2015).
Ms. Schwinghamer earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, and her B.A., summa cum laude, from Florida Gulf Coast University.
