Overview

Monica focuses her practice on labor and employment law. She counsels private and public sector employers on all aspects of workplace compliance and represents employers before state and federal courts and administrative agencies in labor and employment disputes.

Monica also provides on-site training for managers and supervisors on a variety of employment law topics, such as preventing sexual harassment in the workplace and avoiding legal pitfalls in the hiring process. She has conducted investigations in a number of high-profile employment matters, including matters involving sexual harrassment and related conduct, whistleblower claims, discrimination based on race, gender, disability, age, and national origin and equal pay claims.

In addition to her employment law practice, Monica has extensive experience in the areas of education law, public law, and general litigation. She counsels boards of education on laws and regulations specific to the education industry, and she regularly advises other public entities concerning all manner of legal issues unique to the public sector, such as compliance with the Sunshine Laws and the Ohio Ethics Law. Furthermore, Monica has experience in all aspects of the litigation process and has successfully represented clients in a broad range of industries in business disputes and tort cases.
