Overview

Ms. Todd's practice is focused in the area of products liability litigation, with an emphasis on toxic tort matters. She also practices environmental law with a particular focus on environmental litigation matters. In these areas, she represents companies from a broad range of industries including iron and steel, coal, chemicals, and paper manufacturers. She also counsels U.S. and foreign clients on compliance with environmental standards. She has extensive experience with electronic discovery, having provided services including management of large-scale document productions, negotiation of complex e-discovery agreements, and counseling clients on document retention policies and litigations holds.

Experience
  • Defended steel industry client in multiple federal and state toxic tort cases including a federal class action asserting claims for medical monitoring, personal injury, and property value diminution based on alleged air pollution. Successfully resolved the case after obtaining dismissal of the medical monitoring and personal injury claims.
  • Successfully resolved CERCLA litigation involving environmental concerns from a century of operations of a major coke plant in Alabama. Following three separate appeals, the case was before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania for a new allocation proceeding involving more than a dozen expert witnesses.
  • Successfully devised a plan for the review and production of nearly 500,000 documents including negotiating multiple production-related agreements and managing dozens of attorneys in their document review and privilege logging. This was all done within six months and ahead of schedule.
