Roetzel's Karen D. Adinolfi Sworn In as President-Elect of Akron Bar Association

Roetzel & Andress is proud to announce that shareholder Karen D. Adinolfi was sworn in on June 21, 2018, as the President-Elect of the Akron Bar Association. She will assume the role of President of the Akron Bar Association in July 2019.

“This is truly a well-deserved honor for Karen,” said Robert Blackham, Roetzel’s Chairman. “She has been active with the Bar for a number of years, serving on multiple committees and as a member of the Board of Trustees, in addition to her many other professional and community engagements. We congratulate her as she embarks upon this wonderful leadership opportunity with the Akron Bar.”

Ms. Adinolfi is an experienced labor and employment counselor and trial attorney, having handled numerous cases for the firm’s clients, whether public or private, for-profit, or non-profit, large or small. She counsels her clients on employee discipline and discharge, wage and hour matters, FMLA leave and other leaves of absence, disability law and reasonable accommodation, and all other facets of the employer-employee relationship. Ms. Adinolfi has tried numerous cases to verdict, many others through summary judgment, alternative dispute resolution, or on appeal. She has handled collective bargaining and arbitration matters, and has represented clients through numerous administrative agencies at the federal and state level, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Board, the Ohio State Employment Relations Board, Ohio Department of Commerce, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, and the Unemployment Compensation Review Commission.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Adinolfi is active in several civic organizations, serving on the boards of the Akron Blind Center, and the Summit County Historical Society. She is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Section Council, the Ohio Women’s Bar Association, and the Akron Area Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. Ms. Adinolfi earned her J.D. summa cum laude from The University of Akron School of Law, her M.A. summa cum laude from Kent State University and her B.A. magna cum laude from The University of Toledo.
