Roetzel & Andress has bolstered its Medical Defense group in Akron by welcoming associate Justin A. Markota, and its Real Estate group in Naples with the addition of associate John R. Martynyszyn.
Markota specializes in litigation, focusing on medical defense, professional medical negligence, insurance coverage, and business disputes. Prior to joining Roetzel, Markota was a named partner in his family’s longstanding law firm with a strong presence in Mahoning Valley. He brings extensive experience in managing pre-suit and litigation matters in both Ohio and Pennsylvania. Markota’s successful track record includes a criminal defense acquittal in Federal Court and favorable verdicts in high-stakes medical malpractice, wrongful death, and catastrophic personal injury jury trials.
Markota holds a J.D. from Capital University Law School and a B.S.B.A. from Youngstown State University.
Martynyszyn is an associate in the firm's Real Estate group, specializing in construction litigation. He provides representation for contractors throughout all stages of the litigation process, safeguarding their rights and advocating for their interests in disputes. Additionally, he handles business and contract litigation matters for clients.
Martynyszyn earned his J.D. from Capital University Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review, and served as a Judicial Extern to Justice Sharon L. Kennedy. He obtained his B.B.A. from Ohio University and is licensed to practice in both Ohio and Florida.
