Overview

Patrick protects clients – transportation companies, including a national ride-sharing company, physicians and health care providers, insurance companies, manufacturing companies, and others – in complex civil litigation involving allegations of catastrophic injury and harm. Admitted to practice in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana state courts and the federal district courts in each, Patrick is well-positioned to represent clients throughout the Tri-State area from his office in Cincinnati.

Clients appreciate his willingness to take challenging cases to trial and aggressively advocate for their interests before a jury, like the gas service provider he represented in a lawsuit stemming from an explosion and fire in one of their buildings. The accident led to substantial property damage and three burn-victim plaintiffs. After extensive discovery and depositions of numerous experts, the matter was resolved shortly before trial at a figure applauded by the client and its multiple layers of available insurance coverage.

In another case, Patrick’s manufacturing company client was sued by an insurance company seeking to recover millions of dollars it had paid out for agricultural crop-loss claims involving his client’s product. Refusing to concede liability, Patrick’s team creatively utilized experts in fields like chemical engineering, weather data, crop-yields, and accounting to establish that the claims should never have been paid in the first place. The jury agreed and decided in favor of Patrick's client.

During one six-month stretch just before his 30th birthday, Patrick tried three separate jury trials in Kentucky, obtaining a defense verdict in each. He has earned the designation of Certified Litigation Management Professional through the Claim and Litigation Management Alliance organization.

Experience
  • Defense verdict for a truck driver and motor carrier in a contested liability personal injury case in Ohio.
  • Defense verdict for a regional convenience store and restaurant chain in a slip-and-fall claim.
  • Obtained favorable verdict in a complex $10M multi-week property damage subrogation claim and business interruption claim involving oxo-biodegradable plastic agricultural mulch film.
  • Earned multiple unanimous favorable outcomes before in the Indiana Department of Medical Malpractice Review Panel, including findings of no breaches of the standard of care in cases involving general surgeons, wound care specialists, and a community hospital.
  • Obtained summary judgment for a national truck stop chain in a fire loss subrogation case resulting in a savings of nearly $500,000 for the client.
  • Obtained a defense verdict for a Kentucky motorist in a contested liability automobile accident.
