Insurance

The attorneys at Roetzel have been active in the insurance industry for more than 50 years, representing policyholders, insurers and reinsurers, agents and brokers, third-party administrators, and underwriters on coverage disputes, negotiations, litigation, settlement options, bad faith allegations, and other matters.

Our insurance industry clients benefit from the skills and experience of lawyers across the firm in various service areas.

Our long-term relationships throughout the industry — with clients and non-clients alike — position us well to advise businesses and carriers on the full spectrum of insurance-related issues. We partner with clients to develop sound coverage opinions based on the current status of the law and on clearly communicated and assessed policy provisions. We represent insurers facing fraud claims and coverage disputes. We advise corporate policyholders on risk management, claims procedures and issues, and coverage, particularly with respect to construction, professional liability, environmental, life, and health and disability.

Our insurance industry clients benefit from the skills and experience of lawyers across the firm in various services, such as employment services, bankruptcy, securities transactions and regulations, and real estate. In addition, we have significant courtroom experience in prosecuting and defending insurance litigation for both policyholders and carriers, including on coverage; employment; personal injury; and automotive, aviation, and transportation coverage lawsuits.

Several of Roetzel’s trial attorneys are board-certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and board-certified as business litigation lawyers by the Ohio State Bar Association.
