Lewis W. Adkins, Jr.

Lewis leads the firm's client relations, marketing, and business development strategies in his role as Shareholder-in-charge of Development & Practice Integration. He is responsible for ensuring that the firm provides clients with a top-tier experience across all of the firm’s offices and service areas, from their first encounter through project completion.

In addition, Lewis serves as lead counsel to numerous large, public and private entities throughout Ohio and Washington, D.C. He also leads a large and diverse team of attorneys and lobbyists in the public law arena as President of Roetzel Consulting Solutions. His team represents our clients' interests before state legislatures, administrative agencies, and executive branches of state governments in providing legal and political solutions to important issues.

Lewis has also acted as lead counsel for several multi-million-dollar development projects. His clients include public and private entities, as well as construction companies, engineering firms, financial institutions, diversified energy companies, governmental entities, housing authorities, and nonprofit organizations. Prior to assuming his current leadership role, Lewis led the Firm’s Public Law and Finance team as Practice Group Manager for over a decade. Additionally, he previously served as General Counsel to Summit County, Ohio and is currently General Counsel to Alpha Phi Alpha Homes, Inc.

• Serves as lead outside governmental relations counsel for Ohio's largest banking institution
• Represents one of Ohio’s largest construction firm in negotiating several million-dollar projects
• Represents one of the largest Northeast Ohio energy/infrastructure companies 
• Represents Ohio's largest public hospital
• Helped develop a $100 million Northeast Ohio energy project
• Negotiated redevelopment of a large multiple unit apartment complex in Northeast Ohio
• Represents and works with several municipalities including Cleveland, Columbus, Akron, Cincinnati and Youngstown
• Participated in one of Ohio's largest hotel projects of the last 20 years
• Led a multiple million-dollar public-private transfer of transit authority
• Led a $200 million university campus redevelopment project
• Led a municipality through a significant federal Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) mandate
• Participated in a significant airport project in Northeast Ohio
• Helped in the development of the Akron Urban League/City of Akron/County of Summit school project headquarters
• Counseled a client on numerous public/private projects collectively valued at well over $100 million
• Served as lead counsel for Ohio's largest community correction facility
• Assisted in the site development of the Cleveland Industrial Park
• Assisted with the successful development of multiple units of affordable housing throughout Ohio
• Counseled two of Ohio's largest school districts
• Assisted with numerous public/private manufacturing site developments throughout Ohio
