Roetzel Positions Itself for the Future

AKRON, Ohio (March 20, 2023) — Roetzel & Andress is pleased to announce a number of leadership changes across the firm as shareholders Jason Dodson, Michael Scotti III, Justin P. Markey, Lewis W. Adkins, Jr. and John J. (Jay) Rutter step up to take on additional responsibilities.

Dodson is the new Shareholder-in-Charge of Akron Office, and will continue his role as Roetzel Consulting Solutions Director. With a deep understanding of Akron’s political and business communities, Dodson is well suited to this new position. He knows his Akron colleagues, the work they do, and understands Roetzel’s role in the Akron community.

Scotti will be the new Shareholder-in-Charge of Chicago Office, a role he takes on in addition to his work as Practice Group Manager, Business Litigation. Scotti has always been integral in firm management. He is well-versed in all the workings of the Chicago office and has the proven leadership skills to thrive in this role. 

Markey will take on a leadership role as Practice Group Manager, Public Law, Regulatory and Finance. Markey is a seasoned Roetzel veteran, starting with the firm as a summer associate. His vast experience, excellent work, and knowledge of the practice group make him the perfect candidate to assume this position.

Adkins will be taking on a newly created role to capitalize on his significant business development and cross-marketing skills. Adkins will lead the firm's client relations, marketing, and business development strategies in his role as Shareholder-in-Charge of Development & Practice Integration. He will be responsible for ensuring that the firm provides clients with a top-tier experience across all of the firm’s offices and services areas. Adkins will also continue in his roles as Roetzel Consulting Solutions President and as a political advisor to the firm.

Finally, Rutter will be joining Roetzel’s General Counsel Bruce R. Schrader II as Assistant General Counsel, and will be working on all legal, risk and compliance issues affecting the firm.
