Overview

Diana focuses her practice on all aspects of public law, including government relations, litigation, education law, employment, regulatory, and compliance matters. As part of her practice, she counsels small and large companies, government organizations, and nonprofit entities on legislative and legal matters in a diverse range of industries. She also has experience in all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation.

Before attending law school, Diana worked in Washington, D.C. for a member of Congress where she staffed key committees including the House Committee on Rules, the Judiciary Committee, and the Energy and Commerce Committee. She also worked at a government relations firm in Washington, D.C. where she represented clients before Congress and the Executive Branch on a variety of federal issues, including those related to health care, education, and transportation.

Experience

Corporate Counsel

  • Serves as corporate counsel for local businesses where she advises companies on City of Cleveland permitting and licensure issues, real estate transactions, local tax issues, and general litigation matters

Counsel for Public Entities

  • Serves as counsel for a number of public entities including school districts and public housing authorities, where she advises on a variety of legal matters concerning public employees, public debts, and public law litigation

Litigation

  • Oversees an active and diverse docket of litigation that encompasses complex breach of contract claims, complex tort claims and employment matters
  • Successfully resolved cases through motion and strategically positioning cases to favorable settlement for her clients

Government Relations

  • Represents public, private, and nonprofit entities at all levels of government
  • Registered to represent public and private entities before Congress and the Executive Branch on financial services, housing, and Clean Water Act issues
  • Works with clients and congressional offices to navigate executive agencies when working on federal regulatory matters

Nonprofit Experience

  • Has extensive experience assisting nonprofits navigate a myriad of legal matters
  • Led a local faith-based nonprofit through a real estate transaction that included ongoing meetings with leadership committees and a Q&A session with the entire nonprofit’s membership
  • Works closely with a nonprofit serving the re-entry and recovery community on public policy matters
  • Works with criminal justice reform issues, including addressing the heroin epidemic and bail reform
  • Works with community action agencies on issue relating to federal grants, debt negotiations with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, grant reimbursement issues with the Ohio Development Services Agency, and general litigation and nonprofit governance matters
