Overview
Tyler maintains an active litigation practice in Ohio and Kentucky, focusing on a broad range of issues for clients in the transportation and retail industries. Tyler litigates a variety of disputes including those involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, premises liability, product liability, insurance coverage, and workers’ compensation.
As a member of Roetzel's Emergency Response Team, Tyler is experienced in providing immediate and proactive responses to trucking accidents and other catastrophic losses. He routinely handles claims from the initial rapid response call through litigation and, ultimately, resolution at mediation, summary judgment, or trial.
Before joining Roetzel, Tyler worked at a defense firm in Louisville, Kentucky, where he represented individuals, businesses, and insurers in Kentucky state and federal courts.
Experience
- Defense verdict for motor carrier and driver in a disputed liability accident in Greene County, Ohio
- Obtained summary judgment for motor carrier in Kentucky state court in a case with claims for wrongful death, bodily injury, and loss of consortium
- Defended motor carrier and its driver in a wrongful death lawsuit in connection with a pileup involving 90+ vehicles
- Defended motor carrier and its driver in a case involving wrongful death and multiple personal injury claims in connection with an accident involving 30+ vehicles
- Relying on the Graves Amendment, obtained dismissal of claims against owner/lessor of commercial motor vehicle
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of retail establishments in cases involving slip-and-falls, trip-and-falls, and other premises liability claims in Ohio and Kentucky
- Provided guidance to motor carrier on the implications of its employee leave policy and assisted in revising the policy to avoid potential issues arising under state and federal laws
- Defended claims against property restoration company arising under Ohio’s Consumer Sales Practices Act and Home Construction Service Law
- Obtained summary judgment in favor of professional liability insurer in coverage action in Hamilton County, Ohio
