Overview

Ed focuses his practice on wealth transfer and private-client matters, assisting clients transition wealth to younger generations. His clients include individuals and families who have had liquidity events or are seeking liquidity events, executives of public companies, and a variety of corporations and other business and charitable entities. His practice includes estate and income tax planning to maximize wealth transfer and retain desired control and flexibility.

Ed works closely with clients' investment advisors, often assisting to ensure that suitable investment policies are developed and maintained in the appropriate family and charitable entities, from tax and risk-tolerance standpoints. He assists clients with generational planning including conflict resolution, family councils and governance. He often acts as a family CFO and works with family offices. Ed assists clients in developing charitable goals, including planning with community foundations, other public charities and private foundations.
