Donald Mason Appointed to Kent State University Board of Trustees

Roetzel is pleased to announce that Donald L. Mason has been appointed to the Kent State University Board of Trustees. This three-year appointment, which began May 19, 2017 and runs through May 2020, was announced by Ohio Governor John R. Kasich.

Mr. Mason focuses his practice on energy and environmental policy with an emphasis on regulated public utilities, including oil and natural gas development. Because of his knowledge of the energy law and exploration and production activities, Governor Kasich appointed him to the Oil and Gas Commission which is an appellant body for orders of the Chief of Oil and Gas. Mr. Mason also serves as the appointee of the Governor to the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, a Congressionally chartered organization of governors and regulators for oil and gas production states. Additionally, Mr. Mason has a strong commitment to public service, with over 35 years of involvement in state and local government including county library, municipal government, natural resource agency, and public utility commission matters.

“It is an honor to be appointed to the Kent State University Board of Trustees,” said Mr. Mason. “I am looking forward to continuing my lifelong commitment to public service by contributing my time and energy to one of Ohio’s finest universities.”
