Donna Hartl and Brett Simpson Appointed to ISBA Taxation Section Councils

Roetzel & Andress shareholder Donna Hartl and associate Brett Simpson have been appointed to the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) Taxation Section Councils for the 2026-2027 term.

Hartl has been appointed to the ISBA State and Local Taxation Section, while Simpson has been appointed to the ISBA Federal Taxation Section. Both councils are appointment-only groups that support programming and monitor developments in their respective areas of tax law.

Hartl, a former chairperson of the ISBA Federal Tax Section, advises on federal and state tax planning and dispute matters, as well as estate planning, administration, and probate. Simpson focuses on all aspects of taxation, including mergers and acquisitions across healthcare, manufacturing, and real estate sectors.
