Roetzel & Andress and Brouse McDowell Announce Strategic Expansion with Addition of Brouse McDowell Attorneys
Roetzel & Andress, a Legal Professional Association, and Brouse McDowell, a Legal Professional Association, two of Akron’s oldest and most respected law firms, are pleased to announce we have reached an agreement for a strategic expansion through Roetzel’s hiring of 43 attorneys from Brouse McDowell. This move will create one of the most comprehensive legal service providers in the region, and will significantly strengthen Roetzel’s corporate and transactional, real estate, health care, bankruptcy and restructuring, employment, and litigation practice groups.
Roetzel, founded in 1876, and Brouse McDowell, established in 1918, bring together centuries of combined history and experience in providing exceptional legal services. The integration of these experienced attorneys, effective October 1, 2024, will enhance Roetzel’s ability to deliver high-quality legal counsel across a broad spectrum of practice areas.

- Expanded Expertise: The addition will enhance the firm’s capabilities in the areas of corporate and transactional law, real estate, health care, bankruptcy and restructuring, employment, and litigation, providing clients with deeper expertise and broader resources.

- Expanded Geographic Reach: The strategic expansion will add two of Brouse McDowell’s office locations in Sharon, Pennsylvania, and Youngstown, Ohio, to Roetzel’s network, bringing the total number of office locations to 15 and further extending Roetzel’s regional presence.
