Roetzel Attorney Certified as Appellate Law Specialist by Ohio State Bar Association

Roetzel is proud to announce that Emily K. Anglewicz, a shareholder at the firm, has been certified as one of 13 new attorney specialists by the Ohio State Bar Association, effective January 1, 2024. This prestigious certification recognizes her experience and dedication to the field of appellate law.

This certification as an appellate law specialist places Anglewicz among a select group of legal professionals in the state of Ohio. With only 25 attorneys certified in appellate law statewide, and a mere 16 in private practice, Anglewicz became just the second attorney in Summit County to presently hold this certification in appellate law.

This achievement has rigorous requirements, including a demonstration of substantial and continuing involvement in a particular field of law, passage of an intense written exam, 36+ hours of intermediate/advanced continuing legal education credits in the specialty area during the last three years, financial responsibility requirements, and submission of professional references.

As a member of Roetzel’s Business Litigation and Appellate practice groups, Anglewicz focuses her practice on complex litigation, including business, oil and gas, and public law. She has extensive experience handing appeals in state and federal appellate courts in a wide variety of subjects, with a particular emphasis on appeals and original actions before the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Prior to entering private practice, Anglewicz served as a senior judicial attorney at Ohio’s Seventh District Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Ohio for more than 10 years.
