Roetzel Recognized in 2020 Edition of Chambers USA® for 17th Consecutive Year

Roetzel & Andress LPA is recognized in the 2020 edition of the prestigious Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business for the 17th consecutive year.  Roetzel has been identified as an industry leader in Ohio for Natural Resources & Environment, while four of the firm’s shareholders have been individually ranked as leading lawyers in their respective practice areas. 

Independent and objective, Chambers USA is carefully researched and widely considered the most reputable law firm directory in the industry. Ranking criteria include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness/astuteness, diligence and commitment.
Roetzel’s Natural Resources & Environmental Group is ranked in Band 3. Chambers indicates that Roetzel’s Environmental Group is noted for its well-regarded practice representing clients from a range of industries including petroleum and manufacturing. It was also noted that the group “maintains a fine reputation for its representation of clients before various environmental agencies, including the EPA.” 

Roetzel shareholder Shane A. Farolino (Columbus) is said to be “really good at getting clients to where they want to be and at taking the best approach to get there,” by an interviewee. Farolino, ranked in Band 1, is the Practice Group Manager of the Environment, Energy and Health & Safety Group. He focuses his practice on environmental compliance counseling, permitting, and administrative, civil and criminal litigation. He has been selected by Chambers as a leader in the field of Natural Resources & Environment every year since 2004. 

Terrence S. Finn (Akron) is a shareholder in the Environmental, Energy and Health & Safety Group. Mr. Finn focuses his practice on environmental compliance counseling and environmental litigation in administrative, state and federal forums, representing both public and private sector clients on a wide range of environmental issues. According to Chambers sources, Mr. Finn is “knowledgeable and very dogged in his representation of clients.” Mr. Finn ranks in Band 2 and has been selected as a leader in Natural Resources & Environment every year since 2006. 

Thomas L. Rosenberg (Columbus), a shareholder in the firm’s Business Litigation Group, moved up in the Construction Law rankings to Band 2. Mr. Rosenberg has successfully litigated construction cases in courts throughout Ohio and the Midwest and has a reputation as an excellent trial lawyer. He has been honored by Chambers as a leading construction lawyer in Ohio since it began ranking U.S. law firms and lawyers in 2003. Chambers noted that his peers describe him as a “brilliant and exceptionally competent lawyer,” who is “extremely quick-witted and fights relentlessly for his clients.” 

Donald S. Scherzer (Cleveland) is also a shareholder in the firm’s Business Litigation Group and focuses his practice on representative matters that involve complex business and commercial litigation, civil and criminal antitrust enforcement, trade regulation and distribution issues, civil and criminal Medicare and Medicaid fraud, civil and criminal securities fraud, and civil and criminal bank fraud. Mr. Scherzer, ranked in Band 2, has a “wealth of experience” and is widely respected for handling the defense of white-collar criminal cases as well as advising on complex civil and criminal antitrust disputes. Mr. Scherzer has been a Chambers leading lawyer since 2012.
