Roetzel Welcomes Labor & Employment Shareholder in Columbus

Roetzel & Andress is pleased to announce that Heather Renée Adams has joined the firm as a shareholder in the Labor & Employment Group in Columbus.

Haupt, Shareholder in Charge of the firm’s Columbus office. “Heather brings deep knowledge and experience across numerous areas of labor and employment law. She will be an asset to our firm and position us to continue to serve our clients’ needs well into the future.”

Adams is a commonsense driven, labor and employment attorney who provides practical guidance to employers across a spectrum of commercial and employment litigation matters, including single-plaintiff and multi-party cases, high-stakes whistleblower actions, wage and hour disputes, restrictive covenant litigation, and various other areas of employment law.  She has practiced before federal and state trial courts, state and federal appellate courts, and civil rights and fair employment administrative agencies and commissions across the country. Clients call on Adams to provide general counseling services and leadership with respect to implementing preventative measures and resolving disputes using alternative methods.  She also has valuable experience representing employers in union disputes, collective bargaining, labor arbitrations, fact-findings, conciliations, and hearings.

Adams has litigated a broad variety of employment-related matters and tried cases in both federal and state courts. 

Selected as an Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers magazine (2017-2021), Adams was also a recipient of the Presidential Award from the Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater Chicago, Inc. She is Chair of the National Diversity Committee of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel and a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council at DePaul University College of Law.

Adams received her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and her B.S. from West Virginia State University. She is admitted to practice in both Illinois and Ohio.
