Brian is a shareholder in Roetzel’s Business Litigation practice group, where he represents businesses and their owners in high-stakes, “bet-the-company” disputes in all stages of state and federal litigation, from initial investigation through appeal. Brian defends companies in both state and nationwide class actions and routinely litigates shareholder disputes, trade secret and unfair competition disputes, UCC and breach of contract cases, and construction and design-defect claims, among many others. Clients of all sizes value Brian’s prioritization of business objectives throughout the litigation process and his recognition of the process as a means to an end—and not the end in and of itself.

Leveraging insights gained from his extensive business litigation background, Brian has also developed a sophisticated transactional, real estate, and corporate counseling practice. More than a decade of complex business litigation experience provides Brian with a unique perspective, enabling him to anticipate and mitigate potential legal and business threats before they occur. Brian is therefore frequently asked to serve as outside general counsel and to advise on matters of corporate governance, employment, and commercial and real estate transactions, ensuring that clients avoid the pitfalls that eventually lead to litigation.
