Jacob is a transactional attorney whose nationwide practice focuses on real estate acquisitions, dispositions, commercial leasing, title matters, and development. He represents developers, landlords, tenants, retailers, and investors, handling all facets of legal work across a wide variety of commercial real estate, including, shopping centers and other retail developments, industrial properties, warehouse, mixed-use developments, gas station and convenience stores, office buildings, and multifamily projects. 

Jacob is skilled in drafting and negotiating all types of documents in connection with business and real estate transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, declarations of covenants, reciprocal easement agreements, development agreements, and entity documentation. 

Jacob firmly believes that lawyers should be deal makers and not deal breakers, which means always putting the client's objectives first.

Experience
  • Served as lead counsel to a developer and regional convenience store and gas station retailer in their negotiation, acquisition, development, and leasing of sites as part of an expansion into the Central Ohio, Dayton, Toledo, and Detroit markets
  • Assisted a developer with the lease-up and forward sale of a newly developed industrial warehouse
  • Represented a national grocery retailer in all phases of acquisition and leasing in connection with expansion across the Midwest, California, and Florida
  • Served as the leasing and development counsel for two retail shopping center developments in Central Ohio
  • Guided a client through the sale of a Dollar General portfolio across multiple states
  • Represented an investor in the acquisition of a $38 million, eight property industrial portfolio
