Julie Kaplan Zurn

Julie focuses her practice on advising debtors, creditors, and trustees in bankruptcy cases in both Federal and State Courts. She successfully guides clients through a wide range of financial difficulties, including out-of-court negotiations with creditors to modify or restructure debt, recovery of disputed receivables, and the wind-down of small businesses. Julie has served as a Chapter 7 Panel Trustee for the Bankruptcy Court in the Northern District of Ohio since November 1, 2019.

With over 10 years of experience as a Career Law Clerk to Hon. Marilyn Shea-Stonum in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio at Akron, Julie is deeply familiar with all aspects of administering bankruptcy cases. She also provides skilled representation in breach of contract, non-dischargeability, preference, and fraudulent transfer litigation.

Julie is frequently called upon by colleagues to assist in complex and challenging cases, bringing a wealth of knowledge from her unique combination of large firm and solo practice experience.
