Roetzel & Andress Welcomes Luis Cortinas to Fort Myers Office

Roetzel & Andress is pleased to welcome Luis Cortinas as Of Counsel in the firm’s Business Litigation Group. He is based in the firm’s Fort Myers office.

Cortinas focuses his practice on construction and commercial civil litigation. He represents owners, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in resolving construction disputes through mediation, arbitration and litigation. He has represented clients in matters involving a wide range of issues, including specification and plan interpretation, claims for extra work, wrongful termination, defective work, failure to prosecute work, nonpayment, lien disputes, and professional negligence. Cortinas also has experience with matters related to mixed-use high-rise building construction, courthouse construction, luxury RV resort construction and operation, and hotel construction.

Prior to joining Roetzel, Cortinas spent more than nine years with a large commercial construction company, where he served in the company’s in-house litigation department, representing its various divisions nationwide in mediation, arbitration and litigation.

Cortinas earned his J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law and holds both an M.S. and a B.A. from Florida Gulf Coast University. He also served as a paratrooper in the United States Army.
