Roetzel & Andress Announces Election of New President and Treasurer

Roetzel & Andress LPA announced today that Robert E. Blackham, Partner-in-Charge of Roetzel’s Cleveland office and National Practice Group Chair, has been elected as the firm’s President. Paul L. Jackson, a partner in the firm’s Akron office, will serve as the firm’s Secretary-Treasurer.

“Bob and Paul have served in a number of management and leadership capacities in the past and both bring to the firm experience and energy that will be prove invaluable in their new positions,” said Jeff Casto, Roetzel’s Chairman and CEO.

In his role as President, Blackham’s duties will encompass overseeing the day-to-day operation of the lawyers in the firm, including regular interaction with the firm’s practice group leaders.

“My vision for Roetzel is to continue on a trajectory of growth, here in Northeast Ohio and in all of our offices across the country," Blackham said.

In addition to his executive responsibilities, Blackham continues to engage actively in the practice of law, representing employers in all facets of employment law and related litigation, and handling numerous labor arbitrations for unionized employers on a local and national level. Certified as a Workers’ Compensation Law Specialist by the Ohio State Bar Association, Blackham focuses his practice on workplace injury, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) claims, workers' compensation, intentional tort, non-compete agreements and employee discrimination matters. He earned his law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and his B.A. from The Ohio State University.              

Jackson assumes the role of the firm’s Secretary-Treasurer and is charged with managing the fiscal requirements of the firm, in addition to overseeing the creation and maintenance of various corporate records.

Certified as a Specialist for Labor and Employment Law by the Ohio State Bar Association, Jackson focuses his practice on employee benefits, union matters, regulatory compliance, and labor and employment litigation. Jackson earned his J.D. from The University of Akron School of Law, summa cum laude, and a B.S. in Accounting; also from the University of Akron with summa cum laude honors.
