Roetzel & Andress is pleased to announce that Scott G. Brown has joined the firm as a shareholder in its Corporate, Tax and Transactional Group. Based in the firm’s Columbus office, Brown brings extensive experience in intellectual property and transactional law, with a focus on trademark and copyright issues.
“Scott’s extensive experience in intellectual property and transactional law will be a tremendous asset to our clients,” said Al Salvatore, Practice Group Manager of the Corporate, Tax & Transactional Group. “We are excited to welcome him to the team and look forward to utilizing his skills across the firm.”
Brown will lead Roetzel’s efforts in handling trademark matters, assisting clients with clearance and prosecution of new federal trademarks, maintenance of existing trademarks and filings and enforcement of trademark rights. In addition, Brown provides guidance on copyright issues and contractual matters related to the arts, supporting creators and businesses alike.
A graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, Brown also holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in music business/management from Berklee College of Music, where he co-founded and served as editor-in-chief of the Berklee Music Business Journal.
Active in the Columbus community, Brown regularly provides pro bono legal services to musicians and artists and serves as a board member of the Ohio Valley Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers. He frequently speaks on legal topics at The Ohio State University and for the Greater Columbus Arts Council.
