Jonathan T. Cope

Jonathan provides clients with disciplined, detail-driven representation aimed at achieving timely and cost-effective outcomes. His practice is focused on defending injury, retail liability, and business-related litigation.

His practical, problem-solving approach assists clients in efficiently achieving strong results without sacrificing strategic depth. Jonathan helps clients navigate complex claims, discovery, coordination with industry and technical experts, and the development of targeted defense strategies that position matters for early resolution, dispositive motion practice, or trial.

Prior to joining Roetzel, Jonathan served as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Canton City Prosecutor’s Office. In this role, he developed a deep understanding of how evidence is developed, challenged, and presented. This experience allows him to quickly assess exposure, identify weaknesses in opposing theories, and develop effective arguments to protect clients’ interests.

Jonathan also serves on Roetzel’s Emergency Response Team, where he assists with immediate response to issues arising from catastrophic injuries, events, industrial accidents, fires, and other emergencies.
